Little Tokyo was very sick. She had a terrible infection that entered her blood stream and was fatal if left unattended. Our friends and alliances at Iron Horse Vet Care and Gateway Pet Hospital shared in the duties of all the diagnostics and pre-op, as well as this critical surgery. Her owner, disabled and preparing for her own critical surgery the same week, was distraught with the thought of euthanizing her 6 year old therapy dog due to lack of funds. Paws in Need and owner's neighbors to the rescue. We banded together and were able to raise the money to get the surgery done. Tokyo is like a new dog; eating, drinking and recovering perfectly with her grateful owner. We are so happy they can stay together. This is a reminder to all, spay and neuter your pets! Had Tokyo been spayed, she would've never contracted this nearly fatal infection.
