Stray Ziggy was roaming the neighborhood and thankfully stumbled upon a great family. Never having owned a pet before, they had no idea how costly it was to spay or neuter a dog or cat. After a few weeks, they thought she was pregnant. They knew they had to get her into a vet immediately to see if they were also preparing for a litter. Paws in Need was contacted to not only utilize our low-cost spay/neuter program, but if it was determined that she was pregnant, for assistance with resources who might be interested in taking a litter of kittens in for foster-to-adoption. Thankfully, our friends at Animal Medical Center saw Ziggy immediately and further thankfully, she was not pregnant. She was just gaining weight from being fed normally by her newfound family! We set up the low-cost spay appointment and commenced with the surgery. Unfortunately, she had a pretty serious infection brewing and had to be on antibiotics for a couple of weeks after surgery. However, her newfound family sent us this picture, she is recovering well and enjoying her new life inside. Thanks to her sweet family for taking this neglected girl off the streets. She's smart, her new mom calls her a rascal and she's doing great.
